The Page Grimsley Rivalry Reunion: More than just a game, it’s a commitment to our community and student-athletes.
The Page Grimsley Rivalry Reunion is an annual tradition that brings together alumni, families, and fans of Greensboro’s most historic high school rivalry. For two decades, we have turned a friendly competition into a powerful engine for local support.
We believe in the power of community. Our core values center on supporting athletic excellence, fostering lifelong connections between alumni, and ensuring that the next generation of Page and Grimsley student athletes has the resources they need to succeed both on and off the field.
Our Story
What started in 2006 as a small gathering of alumni has grown into Greensboro’s most cherished charity golf event. The "Rivalry Reunion" was born from a simple idea: that the intensity of the Page vs. Grimsley rivalry could be harnessed for good. Over the last 20 years, we have turned fairways into meeting grounds for old friends and new sponsors. To date, we have donated over half a million dollars back to the athletic departments of Page and Grimsley High Schools, funding everything from equipment and safety gear to facility upgrades that benefit every student-athlete.
Our Vision
Our vision is to ensure that the legacy of Greensboro athletics remains strong for decades to come. By hosting the annual golf tournament and reunion, we aim to bridge the gap between past and future generations. We strive to be the primary private funding partner for Page and Grimsley athletics, providing the "extra mile" support that allows our local students to compete at the highest level while learning the leadership skills that sports uniquely provide.
Tournament Format & Rules
The Page Grimsley Rivalry Reunion features a unique scoring system where strength in numbers truly matters. Registration opens at 9:00 am followed by a 10:00 am Shotgun Start.
Scoring & Gameplay
To determine the winning school, the top 75 scores from each school are totaled for the final result. As history has proven, the school with the highest turnout often holds the advantage! Players may choose their preferred style of play at registration:

Own Ball: Play your own ball throughout; please pick up after a double bogey to maintain the pace of play.

Captain’s Choice: Your foursome plays as a team and counts as a single score.
Captain's Choice Scoring Policy
To ensure a fair comparison, we accept the same number of Captain’s Choice (CC) scores from each school.

How it works: if Page has 4 CC teams and Grimsley has 5, only the lowest 4 submitted scores from each side will count toward the final tally.

Pro Tip: Please consider this when deciding your format! If you are a scratch golfer, we strongly encourage you to NOT play Captain's Choice so your individual score can fully contribute to your school's standing.

Athletic Department Grants
This is the core of our mission. We provide direct financial support to the Page and Grimsley athletic departments to ensure coaches and players have the resources they need to compete safely and effectively.

Team Uniforms & Apparel
Pride starts with the jersey. We assist in funding new uniforms and team gear for various sports programs, ensuring that our Pirates and Whirlies look as professional as they play.
Safety & Performance Gear
Impact means protection. Our funding helps purchase state-of-the-art safety equipment, including new helmets and protective pads, reducing the risk of injury for hundreds of student-athletes every year.
Student-Athlete Scholarships
We believe in rewarding excellence in the classroom and on the field. To date, we have awarded over $76,000 in scholarships to deserving seniors from both schools to help further their education.
Facility Enhancements
We invest in the places where legends are made. From weight room upgrades to field maintenance and scoreboard repairs, our contributions help keep Greensboro’s historic sports facilities in top-tier condition.
Future Foundations
With over $500,000 donated since 2006, our impact is long-term. We are building a sustainable endowment that ensures the Page Grimsley rivalry remains a source of community strength for the next 20 years.
